Who we are

Amora is a regenerative village community in Dominicalito, on Costa Rica's South Pacific coast. This website, amora.cr, is ours. For anything about your information — questions, corrections, removal — write to community@amora.cr and a real person will answer.

What we collect

Only what you type into our forms. Depending on the form, that is:

• Your name and email address.
• An optional message — for example, what's drawing you to Amora, or a preferred time for a call.
• Event RSVP details, such as which gathering you're joining and how many people are coming.
• If you sign the visit waiver: your household details, chosen activities, and your drawn signature.
• If you make a founding gift: Stripe tells us that your gift was completed — the amount, date, and a payment reference. We never see or store your card number; payment happens entirely on Stripe's systems.

Every form has a consent checkbox — nothing is submitted without your explicit yes. The forms also contain a hidden anti-spam field that no person ever fills in; it collects nothing from you.

We don't collect anything behind your back: no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, no advertising identifiers. We count visits with a cookieless, aggregate tool (more under "Cookies and third parties") that never identifies you personally.

Where it lives

• Notion — our community record. Form submissions are stored here so we know who wrote to us and can follow up.
• Brevo — the service we use to send email from amora.cr, such as confirmations, your signed waiver copy, and letters you asked for.
• Stripe — processes founding-gift payments on its own pages, under its own privacy policy.

The website itself is a static site served through Cloudflare's network, which handles the technical delivery of pages (and, like any web host, processes connection data such as IP addresses to serve and protect the site).

Why we use it

• To respond when you write to us or book a call.
• To confirm and organize the event you signed up for.
• To send you your signed waiver copy.
• To send letters and community updates — only if you checked the box asking for them.

What we don't do

• We don't sell, rent, or trade your information — to anyone, ever.
• We don't run advertising or ad-tracking of any kind.
• We don't follow individuals around this site — our visit counting is aggregate only, with no cookies and no personal identifiers.
• We don't build profiles of you or share your details with marketers.

Cookies and third parties

This site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. A few honest notes about third parties, though:

• Visit counting. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first measurement tool: it sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and doesn't fingerprint you. It gives us aggregate numbers — how many people visited, which pages, from which countries — never who you are.
• Fonts. Our typefaces are hosted on our own site — your browser never contacts a font network to display these pages.
• Webinar videos. Recorded webinars are embedded with the Vimeo player, with Vimeo's "Do Not Track" mode switched on. Loading a webinar page connects your browser to Vimeo's servers; nothing plays until you press play.
• Instagram photos. The photos from our Instagram that appear on this site are copies we host ourselves — no Instagram code runs in your browser here.
• Payments. Founding gifts happen on Stripe's own pages, where Stripe's cookies and privacy policy apply.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link — one click and you're out, no questions, no guilt trip. You can also simply reply to any email, or write to community@amora.cr, and we'll take you off the list.

Seeing, correcting, or removing your data

Write to community@amora.cr and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — whichever you ask. This isn't a bureaucratic process; it's an email to people who will do it.

Children

We don't knowingly collect children's information through this website. Our forms are for adults; where a family signs a visit waiver, the adult signs for the household.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle information changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date at the top. We won't quietly move the goalposts.
